
LIFESolutions’ Aspire centers provide opportunities for adults
to experience a work-ordered day in a variety of environments.
These centers also provide many services to members including
daily meals, housekeeping services and clerical support, as
well as education on a variety of topics. All these services
are provided by members with the support of unit leaders. And,
when Aspire members are ready for community employment, JobLink,
a service of LIFESolution, is the next step.
Objectives
- to enhance the individual’s ability to function as independently
as possible;
- to provide opportunities for each individual to realize
his/her potential; and,
- to provide an environment that fosters teamwork and learning
where individual’s can best develop skills to improve their
quality of life.
Aspire prepares individuals to seek employment
by providing opportunities for learning the skills needed
for employment. Skills include resume writing, preparing employment
applications, appropriate dress for the work place, interpersonal
and social skills and other educational services as needed.
To participate in services, the individual should meet the
following admission criteria:
- be 18 years of age or older
- received mental health services (past or present)
- be affiliated with a treatment agency
- join voluntarily
- be currently free from alcohol and drug abuse
- have the ability to participate in activities without physical assistance as well as the
ability to manage personal functions
An individual can make his/her own referral. Referrals can also be made by professionals, family members or friends.
